The Woodstock Rehab Clinic is now offering and accepting physiotherapy referrals for virtual care through the Ontario Telemedicine Network(OTN). The process for scheduling an appointment has not changed. Clients would still call the clinic directly at 519-421-4224.

The Woodstock Rehabilitation Clinic is a fee for service clinic operated by Woodstock Hospital. Professional services include physiotherapy, occupational therapy, kinesiology, physiatry, massage therapy, ergonomics, concussion management and sports medicine.

Physiotherapy

Staff provide thorough assessment and treatment programs for all orthopaedic injuries, such as sprains, strains, neck & back disorders, pre and post-operative conditions and fractures. We incorporate several treatment practices including mobilization and manual therapy, acupuncture, electrotherapy/heat/cold, progressive exercise and muscle imbalance programs.

Occupational Therapy

Occupational therapy provides assessment and treatment for mild traumatic brain injuries and musculoskeletal injuries with the aim of improving and promoting independence and functioning in areas of self-care, leisure, and return to work. Occupational therapists take into consideration the physical, emotional, and cognitive changes that occur following an illness or injury. Interventions include but are not limited to providing strategies for symptom management, driving anxiety, cognitive rehabilitation, environmental modification, and equipment recommendations.

Kinesiology

Kinesiologists develop individualized health and fitness programs.  Additionally, we can provide individuals with helpful suggestions to modify work stations or the home environment to reduce work-site stress.

Massage Therapy 

Massage Therapy an alleviate or prevent soft tissue discomfort and injury by preparing the tissues prior to and after activities. Massage promotes healing and remodeling of the soft tissues as well as enhancing the well-being of the client.

Physiatry  

A Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Specialist specializes in restoring optimal function to people with injuries of the muscles, bones, soft tissues and nervous system.

Ergonomics

The Woodstock Rehabilitation Clinic provides on-site work station evaluations. This service is performed by certified kinesiologists with post- graduate education in ergonomics. A comprehensive report identifying problem areas, realistic modifications and short and long term goals is provided following the assessment.

The clinic also provides on-site educational programs to workers. This could include safe lifting and working techniques adapted specifically to your work environment. Functional Capacity Evaluations are available by experienced, qualified professionals.

Concussion Management Services

The Woodstock Rehabilitation Clinic became a Certified Provider of Concussion Management Services by Shift Concussion Management (www.shiftconcussion.ca) in the spring of 2015.  Concussion-related services include clinical assessment of concussion,  baseline/pre-season testing, vestibular and oculomotor screening, cognitive assessment, concussion rehabilitation strategies, physical exertion testing and return-to-play advice.

Woodstock Sports Medicine

A sports injury clinic is offered at the Woodstock Rehabilitation Clinic by Dr. Kevin R. Willits, MD, FRCSC, Assistant Professor at UWO and Orthopaedic Surgeon at Fowler Kennedy Sports Medicine Clinic. This clinic has been developed to offer local elite/recreational athletes and performing artists the opportunity for early access to medical attention.
